- 16-4-05 We've been on
a week's holiday, a working one - finishing off the conservatory and decorating the dining
room. Jim and my brother David did the main of the construction over a few weekends.
Nightmare for them the day they put the roof on, it poured down. The start of this week l
did the tiling, and then grouted on Sunday - job l hate doing :/ Then while Jim's been
sealing and finishing off, on Tuesday l wallpapered the dining room, we painted it
Wednesday, there till 11pm and it's the wrong colour lol ...but is it ? Well, yes to
what l had in mind..if you look at the pics of Will's room it should be the ivory/cream
colour, but the exact same paint in the dining room turns into a cream/yellow colour, very
odd , but it still goes fine so it's not a problem :) The thing that's really wound us
both up this week has been fitting the roof blinds...absolute nightmare!!!! first off
there wasn't enough cord, they sent some more, and the brackets/pulleys are totally diff
to the ones in the instructions. It's taken us hours to get the things to hang as they
should, was easier putting the conservatory up, and that's no joke. Anyway we're just
about finished, l'll be ordering a carpet on Monday that's the same colour as the rug to
bring the two rooms together, we need to make some shelving for the stereo, tv etc as the
ones we can buy are either too big or small ,and we've ordered a Mother and Child lamp.
Job done :D Just gotta start on the outside now, at least there's no blinds there :)

- 18-3-05 Hi, l haven't
updated much recently, too busy looking after Will ,working, fragging or doing my family
tree :) Will's now walking, he looks like an old man toddling about, and just goes of for
a wander, very funny :) l'm a year older, we got the night off and went for a meal, was
nice, but we're too old and tired now to be going pub crawling so watched a dvd when we
got back with a cuppa and just chilled for a bit. We're busy with the house too again atm,
on with putting a conservatory up, so l've made a start inside stripping off the paper in
the room it's gonna be joined to, l'm hoping to do it nice and neutral and try and blend
the two together. The conservatory is all white, including the blinds so it'll need a
splash of colour somewhere, and although l don't know when l'm gonna find the time to get
it done...needs must (being a woman and always after an excuse to redecorate lol )
- l've got a bit
further with my family tree, had a number of very distant relatives mail me, but one
contact turns out to be my Gran's cousin and she never even knew about her, her sister and
their family etc. They're going to start writing to each other so if nothing else l'm
really pleased about that :) They also found a letter my Gran had wrote to their Dad in
1945 when she became a wraf, though he didn't reply he kept it.
- Our clan just
finished the jolt ctf league, we had a few ups and downs through the season, and fully
expected to get the 'wooden spoon' but managed a few wins, one being the last game where we
beat our division leaders, so that was nice. We've a few more members too, nice blokes like
the rest of em. So anyway now we're at a loose end Monday nights we've decided to run our
own league for those in our division. Keeps the interest up and gets us all a bit of
practise in before the Jolt league kicks off again . Should be fun :)
- Oh, my saga getting
glasses turned out alright in the end too, l mailed them and listed the number of visits
l'd had to make (11) frames(3) and sets of lenses (5) so for all my inconvenience l'm
getting a free pair of prescription sunglasses :)

- Hi, more pics of
Will. lt was his first birthday on the 24th Jan :) We didn't have a party for him, not
really old enough but come the summer, and when he's able to get about better l'll have a
summer party. Nice weather and the kids can all stay outside without wrecking the house :)
We've ordered a conservatory, lean to type to gain some space back in the house, and are
also gonna move the garage and extend it to down to the side of the house to get back the
garden space, then get Will's house and swing etc outside where they should be lol Not
much else been happening really, busy with work and Will, and fragging as and when l can.
Also keeping on with my family tree back to 1580 now. l also got some new specs, had em
years but only worn em for reading, comping etc, but l've noticed l'm struggling day to
day with reading, writing etc at work so got some to wear all the time, l'm quite used to
em already, they're very small lenses and rimless so nice and light - but 'vision express'
it ain't !! 2 weeks and tbh l'm still not totally happy with em, l'll have to get my pic
updated now :/

- 24-12-04 Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year to you :) Hope you have a good one. We've just put up
Will's play house, it looks massive but will eventually go in the garden ( it looked much
smaller in the shop lol ) He's a mass of pressies too, although to justify it a little he
does have to go nearly a year before getting more as his birthday's in January and they
include what other people have bought him too. Don't think Mo's gonna be too impressed lol
-
- Will's first
Christmas Day.....Well the day started fairly early, although l did wake up at 5am my Mam
was reluctant to get up for the pressies then and put me back to bed :/ Not to worry l
needed the sleep. When we got up again at 7.45 I was taken by the oldies to the kitchen to
avoid seeing anything waiting on my grandparents coming, but we didn't wait that long..l
was taken into my play room (known to anyone else as the dining room) and was confronted
by this huge bright coloured house, l think you can tell by the pic that l liked it :)
After a little play in it and some peep-po through the window we went into the other room.
l could hardly see the tree for the pile of pressies Santa had left. l did try and open
some of them but tbh l got bored after two and decided to eat the paper instead lol Nanna
and granddad turned up then and as l was going from toy to toy they were trying to get
batteries fitting in everything, not that l helped much though..l don't think they enjoyed
me trying to play hide and seek with the screw driver too much lol Anyway this tired me
out so l went for a nap and woke to dinner, l couldn't manage the full works but had some
prawns and cucumber followed by mashed up Xmas dinner with some ice-cream for afters, was
ok but did they have to make me wear the silly hat. All in all though a very good day, l
went to bed tired but happy :D

- 25-10-04 Will's 10
months old already, can't believe how quick it's gone by. He's nearly walking too, potters
about holding the furniture and stands unaided. He has got an annoying little habit tho,
well several but one is that he likes to eat bird seed :/ l've had to move the finch cage
( only one left now, and it died of natural causes just in case you're wondering lol ) to
the comp room, which is also annoying as it twerps it's little head off lol the parrot l
can't do much about as her cage is massive, but she's not so messy. Another thing he like
to eat is coal.

- The ctf league has finished, we ended up in 6th place in our div. The season started not
so bad, having us top of the table till mid season, then we lost a few, drew a few and
then lost a few more lol Was good tho, all members of the clan got to play and was quite
funny at times - peeps not realising they had the flag etc some v gg's overall, enjoyable
season !! :)
-
- My latest phase of internet activity has been looking into my family tree. l've spent
hours doing various searches for my dead rellies, so far getting back to 1816 on my dad's
mam's side. there has also been a little controversy as another woman off genesreunited
follows my tree, she has her nan's parents as my nan's parents and the tree follows back
the same, but they were both called Alice and born diff years so it's wrong somewhere. l'm
also searching 2 families of the same surname within my family as my nan's mam's maiden
name was the same as the name my nan married to - it gets very complicated, l've scraps of
paper all over with names and dates on em lol l've not got far on my dad's dad's side yet,
and no where at all on my mam's but have found her name in the village my grandparents
still live at going back to 1604 so just need to link to em somehow. l also think peeps
today don't realise how lucky they are, my nan was one of 13 kids, at one time 10 of em
and 2 adults living in a 2 up 2 down work house :/ ln doing my searches there's quite
often illegitimate grandchildren living with large families too. Often brought up as the
grandparents children which doesn't help in finding them any easier. My nan had 2 sisters
born before her mam was married and they were given the married name, wasn't till they
married themselves and got their birth certificates that they realised they were called
their mother's nee name. l was thinking of putting my tree on the site but it wouldn't be
of any real interest to anyone really so have decided not to. So just on my nan's side
l've 7 lots of surnames linked to me so far, so you never know - we could be v distant
relations ;)
